The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) along with ITEC S.A.S developed this project in order to generate the loss exceedance curve for extensive events in Honduras, and thus obtain information regarding the losses and recurrences of frequent events in the country. To achieve this objective, the information contained in the DESINVENTAR and EM-DAT databases was adjusted and complemented in order to obtain an impact assessment and an economic quantification. Subsequently, the algorithm for calculating the loss exceedance curve was implemented, the results of which were analyzed and interpreted.
