Local entities from El Salvador, specifically the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources MARN, along with ITEC S.A.S and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) developed this project in order to carry out a flood risk assessment in the main basins of the country. To achieve this objective, it was necessary to perform the modelling of the rain and flood hazards, an exposure survey, and a vulnerability analysis. Once the results of the risk assessment were obtained, an advisory on information gathering was provided to local professionals, as well as training workshops in CAPRA and other complementary software, with the purpose of enhancing the comprehension of the results and the methodology implemented to attain them.
