The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) along with ITEC S.A.S, Ingeniar Ltda., and Engineering Advise International, developed this project in order to carry out an evaluation of the catastrophic risk profile of the country, including risks from earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes (wind, storm surge, rain), floods and landslides. To achieve this objective, hazard modeling, survey and analysis of exposure information, vulnerability analysis, and a comprehensive risk assessment were carried out. Finally, financial protection recommendations at a country level were proposed, and training workshops in CAPRA and complementary software were imparted.
