The Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley, conformed by 10 municipalities, along with Uniandes developed an agreement to harmonize the seismic microzoning of the municipalities of the Aburrá Valley to the current Colombian Building Code (NSR-10). In this way, the project provided updated seismic and technical information required for the adoption of the results of the seismic microzonation studies of the Metropolitan Area. A survey and organization of the available geological information was made, together with its processing by means of a dynamic response analysis of the characteristic soil deposits of the area. The results were then harmonized with the national Building Code for their later adoption.
