ERN-Volcan is a specialized system in the modeling of volcanic hazard. The program allows to model probabilistically the hazar that a given volcano can generate, in terms of its eruptive history, the magnitude of the eruptions (VEI), and volcanic products can generate.
ERN-Volcan probabilistically integrates all the variables included in the model for volcanic hazard assessment of CAPRA, to generate a set of stochastic scenarios, each characterized by an annual frequency of occurrence for each type of product (lavas , pyroclastic flows, ash), which collectively are representative of the threat provided by the volcano analysis.
